Guyana Trans United will educate and empower members of the Trans and LGBT community to advocate for comprehensive health care, education, housing, financial management and self-sufficiency while having zero tolerance for stigma and discrimination and injustices

A united and empowered Transgender community inclusive of LGBQ members, fostering an enabling environment.

Most of the members of GTU are Trans, diverse, gender non confirming and sex workers who hail from the various region we work in nationally.


We are artistic and creative people, we are cooks and seamstresses, early school leavers as well as university graduate, we are educators, caregivers, and small business owners.

We are of African, Indian, Amerindian, Chinese, and mixed racial/ethnic heritages.

We hold diverse religious and political beliefs and engage in various cultural practices.

Some are out and proud and others are fearful and marginalized. Some of us are embraced or estranged from our families.
